1000 Kraniche

Germany ist the only country in Europe, where children are forced to attend state schools. Homeschooling, which exists in many countries around the globe, is not possible there. The initiative "1000 Kraniche" (1000 Cranes) was originated by Anja Krohmer form Austria to point out this deficiency and to claim freedom of education for Germany. Honoring an old japanese tradition, countless families from european countries took part and folded paper cranes, which were handed over to the government on the 4th of march 2010.

The website promoted the initiative, showed the current number of folded cranes and documented the progress.
